Henry Winkler is an Emmy Award-winning American actor, producer, director and author whose entertainment career spans more than five decades.

He became a television icon through his portrayal of Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli in the classic sitcom Happy Days. Originally introduced as a supporting character, Fonzie became one of the programme’s most popular personalities and an enduring symbol of American television.

Winkler later received widespread critical acclaim for playing acting teacher Gene Cousineau in HBO’s dark comedy Barry, earning a Primetime Emmy Award.

His other notable credits include Arrested Development, Scream, The Waterboy and Parks and Recreation.

Beyond acting, Winkler has co-authored children’s books, including the Hank Zipzer series, inspired partly by his own experiences with dyslexia.
