Peter Capaldi is an Academy Award and BAFTA-winning Scottish actor, writer and director. He is internationally recognised for playing the Twelfth Doctor in Doctor Who between 2013 and 2017. Before stepping into the TARDIS, he won widespread acclaim as the foul-mouthed Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It, earning a BAFTA Award. His extensive career also includes roles in Paddington, The Suicide Squad, Dangerous Liaisons, World War Z, Local Hero, Torchwood and numerous stage productions. Capaldi also won an Academy Award for his short film Franz Kafka’s It’s a Wonderful Life.
