Tom Welling is an American actor, producer and director best known for portraying Clark Kent in the long-running superhero television series Smallville.

Running for ten seasons, Smallville explored Clark’s teenage years and early adulthood before becoming Superman. Welling’s portrayal helped redefine the character for a generation of television audiences.

He later played Marcus Pierce, also known as Cain, in the supernatural crime series Lucifer and appeared in The Winchesters.

His film credits include Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, The Fog and Draft Day.

Welling also directed episodes of Smallville and served as an executive producer during the show’s later seasons.
