J. August Richards is an American actor best known as Charles Gunn in *Angel*. Introduced as a vampire hunter protecting his neighbourhood, Gunn became a key member of Angel Investigations and remained a major character throughout the series. Richards later joined the Marvel universe as Mike Peterson/Deathlok in *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, with other credits including *Arrow* and *Generation*.
